Evidence-based and Promise-based Faith

Evidence-based and promise-based faith.  God uses both.

 

Jesus performed miracles.  That led to evidence-based faith – seeing is believing.

But…Jesus said to doubting Thomas: “…blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

 

God uses both.

There are some who find it hard to believe – unless they see clear and indisputable evidence.  God often meets people at that level.

But…the better way is to believe…on the basis of promise.  Since God’s Word is true…that’s enough.  Promise builds a foundation for faith.

 

One of the earmarks of spiritual maturity is to become less and less evidence-based…and more promise-based.

Let promise-based faith be sufficient.
