In Search for an Antecedent

In search for an antecedent.  What is it that is being modified?

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him…”

Then the next verse reads – “…but God has revealed…” Then follows a pronoun…in some translations in italics –either “it” or “them.”  There is no pronoun given in the original text.

If it is “it” – to what does it refer?  What is it that the the eye has not seen…nor ear heard…nor mind conceived?  This is the search for the antecedent.

Since Paul was focused on the cross in preceding verses…could it be that he is speaking about a revelation of the meaning of the cross? Could it be that the “it” here is the cross?

The cross is the core of the gospel.  Let it be the core of your life as well.
