Making Demands of God

Making demands of God. Be very careful – as that can bring bitter consequences.

The psalmist says of the Israelites – “So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.”

In the face of rebellious ways…the Lord gave in to their demands — but as a consequence brought to them a wasting disease.

The lesson is clear – do not make demands of God.

Why?  Because God’s ways are always right.  But if you make demands…He may acquiesce and give in – and then let you reap the consequences of your rebellious ways.

Yes…it is right to quote back to God His promises.  But then leave the matter with Him…because His ways are always the best.

So…seek to know the will of God.  Submit to His will…and rest in His care.
