A Perfect Sacrifice

A perfect sacrifice.  That description belongs to Jesus — and Jesus alone.

Moses instructed Israel — “Do not sacrifice to the Lord our God an ox or a sheep that has any defect or flaw in it…”

Why?

Because every animal offered was a foreshadow of Jesus…the perfect Lamb of God.

Jesus died once – never to be repeated.  Jesus died for all – no other sacrifice would be needed.  This was a perfect sacrifice.

As such…it is efficacious to atone for all the sins of the world.  Your good works?  They don’t atone.  Your expression of intentions?  They don’t count.  You need a perfect sacrifice – and that is Jesus.

The sinless…perfect…and complete sacrifice.
