“Not Even a Hint”

Not even a hint.  That’s cutting it close.

But that’s what Paul says about immorality — impurity — greed — obscenity — foolish talk — and coarse joking.

“…there must not be even a hint…these are improper for God’s people.”

Some people get as close as possible to these forbidden behaviors…but stop short of full indulgence.

It’s just this that Paul addresses.  There should not even be a hint of such conduct.

Yes…it’s a high standard.  It’s easy to be a little lustful…a little greedy…a little impure…a little coarse.

No.  Even a little is disallowed.

How is such a high standard attainable?  Only by relying on God’s grace and forgiveness.

Not even a hint.
